It is the largest province of the Netherlands. Gelderland extends until Gorinchem in the west, until the north of the province of Flevoland, to the border with Germany and the Waal river in the south. Its moors of heathers and forests, its small hills and its wild nature make of it a favorite destination for those which are wearied uniform landscapes that the polders of the other provinces constitute.
