The Auvergne is the mountainous heart of the Massif Central. The tourism and especially the thermalism offers a no-negligible resource in the region. In the West of Clermont-Ferrand, in fact the 80 dormant volcanos of the chain of Puys rise on forty kilometers. Top of Puy de Dôme, highest among all (1 465 m), the chain is revealed majestic and mysterious.

Domaine de la Taillade is nestled in the Truyere Gorges. The restaurant offers traditional local dishes and, once a week, the bread oven is lit and you can bake your own cakes and bread. Only FNI members - La Serre de Portelas is 800 metres above sea level with wonderful panoramic views over the valleys of the Monne, Forez and Livradois, as far as the mountains of Sancy.Six of the 15 hectares are designated for camping (tents, caravans and motor caravans). The rest are reserved for enjoying the peaceful and quiet atmosphere, which is the sites greatest asset.
